Grand Grammar Competition Certificate Distribution Ceremony

 

The Center for Languages (CFL) successfully organised the Grand Grammar Competition for English I, II, and III students from April 20 to April 23, 2026. The initiative, led by Dr. Amna Shahid, Head CFL, aimed to strengthen students’ grammatical accuracy, promote effective communication skills, encourage self-learning, and integrate AI-based assessment in language evaluation.

A total of 3,026 students participated in the first round, out of which 433 students scored a perfect 30/30 and qualified for the final round. In the concluding stage, students competed for top positions, with 14 students securing first position, 39 securing second position, and 14 securing third position.

The prize distribution ceremony was held on May 14, 2026, where certificates and prizes were awarded to the winners by Chief Guest Dr Nadia Anwar, Dean SLA. The event highlighted the importance of grammar proficiency in academic excellence and effective communication, marking a successful academic initiative by CFL.


Change in Leadership

On 18 February 2026, the Centre for Foreign Languages (CFL) held a heartfelt ceremony to mark a change in leadership. The faculty warmly welcomed Dr. Amna Shahid as the new Head of Department and extended their best wishes to Dr. Sobia Ilyas as she moved on to serve as Chairperson of DLC.

Colleagues expressed sincere gratitude for Dr. Sobia Ilyas’s dedicated service and inspiring leadership, while also sharing their confidence and support for Dr. Amna Shahid’s new role. The event ended on a positive and hopeful note, reflecting CFL’s strong sense of unity and commitment to excellence.


Certificate Distribution Ceremony Batch IV

The Center for Languages (CFL) at the School of Liberal Arts (SLA) proudly hosted the Batch IV Certificate Distribution Ceremony on January 22, 2025. The ceremony highlighted the huge success of all the offered courses : " Introduction to German Language",  "IELTS Preparatory Course' and "English Essay and Precis Writing". Dean SLA, Dr. Nadia Anwar graced the occasion and congratulated the participants and the instructors for the tremendous success of the courses. She also acknowledged CFL’s crucial role in promoting languages and providing opportunities  for professional development. 

SLA Orientation Fall 2024

Ms. Sobia Ilyas, Head CFL, played an active role in the Fall 2024 Orientation, connecting with new SLA students and sharing helpful advice to guide them through their university journey. Her warm and approachable presence made the orientation more engaging, creating a welcoming atmosphere that helped students feel supported and ready for the road ahead.
