Climate Action Ambassador
Ms. Zara Saleem, faculty member at the Center for Languages (CFL), School of Liberal Arts (SLA), has been appointed as a Climate Action Ambassador for the international initiative “Writing Our Future, Together.” This global classroom project, led by Take Action Global (TAG) and implemented in Pakistan through Evolution, aims to promote climate literacy, sustainability, and environmental storytelling through English language education.
As part of this prestigious role, Ms. Zara Saleem will contribute to a nationwide effort involving over 100 ambassadors across Pakistan, each implementing climate-focused lesson plans within their institutions and communities. Her selection reflects CFL’s commitment to interdisciplinary education, global engagement, and the integration of language learning with sustainability-driven action.
This achievement underscores CFL’s active role in advancing impactful, globally aligned educational initiatives.

Ms. Sobia Ilyas, Head Center for Languages (CFL, UMT), was presented with the first copy of SPELLS, the inaugural literary magazine of the Department of English Language and Literature (DELL), University of Lahore by the HOD Dr. HM Zahid Iqbal. This landmark publication celebrates creativity, intellect, and cultural engagement, marking a significant contribution to literary and academic excellence. We will look forward to more valuable editions of SPELLS in future.

We are proud to announce that Ms. Zara Fatima from the Department of Center for Languages, School of Liberal Arts, has been awarded a Letter of Appreciation for Excellence in Teaching for the Fall 2024 semester. She received this recognition for securing above 90% in students' feedback, placing her among the top-performing faculty at UMT.
