1st International Colloquium in Languages and Interdisciplinary Research (ICLIR 2026)
On January 20, 2026, the 1st International Colloquium in Languages and Interdisciplinary Research (ICLIR 2026), organized by the Center for Languages (CFL), brought together national and international scholars to share ideas, foster collaboration, and advance language and communication research.
The event opened with the addresses by Dr. Nadia Anwar (Dean, SLA), UMT Rector Dr. Asif Raza, and Chief Guest Rana Sikander Hayat, Punjab Minister of Education. ICLIR 2026 featured four thematic sessions, where national and international scholars presented research on digital communication, discourse analysis, bilingualism, language assessment, ecolinguistics, and posthuman literature. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sobia Ilyas (Head,CFL) certificate and souvenir distribution, and a group photo, marking ICLIR 2026 as a milestone in interdisciplinary language research and global academic collaboration.
