The faculty of the Department of Linguistics and Communications (DLC) actively contributes to academic excellence through teaching, research, publications, professional development, community engagement, and scholarly leadership. • Published in Pakistani Literature, Issue 31 (2026) by the Pakistan Academy of Letters, celebrates the richness and diversity of contemporary Pakistani literature through poetry, fiction, translations, and scholarly essays.

  We are delighted to share that Ms. Rida Sarfraz’s poem, “Ode to Bahawalpur,” has been featured in this prestigious literary publication. The poem is a tribute to Bahawalpur, capturing the city through nostalgia, memory, belonging, and emotional attachment to the place. Its publication gives personal memories a wider literary space while contributing to the representation of Pakistan’s cities, cultural landscapes, and lived experiences in contemporary Anglophone poetry.
  This achievement marks a proud moment for the Department and celebrates the creative literary contribution of its faculty beyond academic scholarship.

• Dr. Arshad Ali Khan (Professor, DLC) received a Certificate of Attendance for participating in the Fifth International Conference on Heritage & Community Languages at the University of California, Los Angeles — a valuable experience of learning, networking, and academic growth.
