Mr. Khalid Mahmood, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, PhD English (Linguistics) Scholar and MPhil Alum at Department of Linguistics and Communications, School of Liberal Arts, University of Management and Technology, Lahore was invited as panelist for the 3rd International Punjabi Conference held at Punjab Institute of Languages, Art, and Culture, Lahore from 5 – 7 December 2025.
The Department of Linguistics & Communication (DLC) is proud to announce the outstanding achievement of Ms. Arooba Hafeez, an MPhil Applied Linguistics scholar and BS alum, who has won the Gold Medal at the National Games 2025 and earned the prestigious title of Pakistan No. 01 in Fencing. DLC Mphil Student Hashima Khan (F2023084009), in collaboration with co-author Zakia Mushtaq, Lecturer at DLC UMT, presented their research entitled “Beyond Representation: Visual Social Semiotics and the Digital Photography of War in Non-Western Contexts” at the Pakistan English Conference 2025, GCU Lahore. Their research work received valuable academic attention and fostered meaningful scholarly engagement.
